“IEEE WSAIM YP pitch competition award”
Rules for Participants

This call is devoted to M.Sc. Students and Young Professionals (post-Doc and young researchers within 15 years from the first degree – Bachelor), both IEEE and non-IEEE Members.

The competitors shall prepare a 5-minute video aimed at showing their research activity using slides, pictures, photos, graphics, lab demo, etc., to describe in a convincing and attractive way their research results and field of application.


The participants at the 2021 IEEE 2ND INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON WEARABLE SENSORS AND DEVICES, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND WEARABLES MARKETS will be able to vote their favourite video using a special application (i.e. Mentimeter https://www.mentimeter.com) on their smart phones or other device during the participation to the special track.


The competition will take place on Tuesday 14 December using the Zoom platform and the participation is free of charge.
All competitors will receive a participation certificate, the best video will be awarded with a customized certificate. The winner will receive a € 500 prize.

Participants shall
  1. send an e-mail, whose object should be IEEE WSAIM YP pitch competition award - name surname, to the IEEE YP vice-chair (e-mail: vincenzo.randazzo@polito.it) no later than DECEMBER 12, 2021.
  2. register to the workshop to receive the link to join the event: Link for the registration

In the text of the e-mail the participant shall include the following info:
a) title of the video;
b) name and affiliation of the author;
c) e-mail of the author.

The video should be uploaded to the shared folder:

The 5-minute MP4-format video should not exceed 100 MB.
The award recipient will be selected by the Award Committee, which is composed by:
  1. Federica Battisti, Università degli Studi di Padova (Padova, Italy)
  2. Vincenzo Randazzo, Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy)
  3. Davide Comite, Sapienza Università di Roma (Rome, Italy)
  4. Elisabetta Moisello, Università degli Studi di Pavia (Pavia, Italy)

​The winner will be notified during the closing ceremony of the conference. All the decisions of the Board are final. No ex-aequo is allowed.
